Legal Notice — Non-Governmental Status
Last updated: May 2026
Trichology.com is a private publisher. We are not a government agency, not a state or federal licensing board, and not an accreditor recognised by the U.S. Department of Education, CHEA, or any other regulatory authority. Inclusion in the Trichology Professional Registry is an editorial recognition by a private publisher — it is not a license, certification, registration, or any other form of legal authorisation to practise a regulated profession.
1. Who we are
Trichology.com (the “Site”) and the Trichology Professional Registry (the “Registry”) are operated by a private United States publisher. We publish editorial content, a clinical journal, an education library, and the Registry — a vetted record of trichology professionals reviewed by our staff.
2. What the Registry is — and is not
Words on this Site such as “Registry,” “Verified,” “Verified Professional,” “recognised,” “credential review,” and “Verification standards” describe an editorial, private vetting process performed by Trichology.com staff against publicly stated criteria. They do not confer a license, certification, registration, accreditation, scope of practice, or any other legal authorisation in the United States or in any other jurisdiction.
The Registry is published voluntarily by a private company. Removal from, or absence from, the Registry has no legal effect on any professional’s ability to practise in their jurisdiction.
3. Trichology is not a licensed profession in the United States
As of the date of this notice, “trichologist” is not a title licensed or regulated by any U.S. federal or state authority. Anyone listed in the Registry must independently hold whatever licenses are required by their own jurisdiction for the services they actually deliver (for example, MD, DO, RN, PA, NP, or state cosmetology licensure). The Registry does not — and cannot — authorise anyone to practise medicine, nursing, cosmetology, or any other regulated activity.
4. No affiliation with government or accrediting bodies
Trichology.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, any state medical, nursing, or cosmetology board, the World Trichology Society (WTS), the International Association of Trichologists (IAT), or any other government, regulatory, or accrediting body. References on this Site to third-party credentials (such as “WTS” or “IAT”) describe a professional’s separately-earned credential and are not a claim of partnership or endorsement by those organisations.
5. Names and trademarks
“Trichology Professional Registry,” “Trichology.com,” “Clinical Trichology,” “Trichology Journal,” and related marks are used as common-law trademarks of a private publisher. They are not titles granted by, or registered with, any governmental licensing authority, and they do not signify any form of public-sector recognition.
6. Scope of our verification
Our editorial review checks documents that the applicant submits — credentials, identity, and professional references — against our published criteria. We do not perform criminal background checks, malpractice-history checks, or continuous license-status monitoring unless we expressly say otherwise on a particular record. Patients must independently verify any clinician’s current license, malpractice history, and disciplinary status with the appropriate state board before receiving care.
7. Not medical advice; no provider-patient relationship
Content on the Site, including Registry records, is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Listing or recognition in the Registry is not a referral or endorsement and creates no provider-patient relationship between any visitor and Trichology.com or any listed professional.
8. No warranty; no liability for reliance
The Site and the Registry are provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trichology.com disclaims liability for any decision made in reliance on Registry inclusion, the absence of a record from the Registry, or any other Site content. See also our Terms of Service (Sections 11–12).
9. Reporting misuse
If you encounter anyone using Trichology.com or the Registry to imply governmental status, official licensure, accreditation, or partnership with a regulatory body, please report it to legal@trichologyregistry.com. We take impersonation of public authority seriously and will act on credible reports.
10. Jurisdiction
Trichology.com is operated from the United States. This notice is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, consistent with our Terms of Service.
11. Updates
We may update this notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice to any third party.
